Today on the blog, two of our team members are here to show you just how easily storage can be both functional as well as beautiful.
First up on the blog today is Kim:
Hello Everyone! Kim here today to share another of Gina's wonderful new products for 2014. This time it's a gorgeous Trim Organizer. I decorated mine in a vintage style, and I'm using it to store my favorite vintage laces. I really love how functional this is, and it holds 12 Chipboard Spools to wrap with your favorite trims.
I covered each of the chipboard spools in a vintage style paper, distressed the edges, and used a Paris Stamp from my stash to make them look more authentically Parisian. I went around the edges with my Prima chalk edger to complete the look.
Here is a close up of the Filigree Frame, which I used to mimic a label on the front of the box. I painted the frame with Silks Acrylic Glaze in Nutmeg, then I used some Guilders Paste in African Bronze and Copper on the filigree part, to make it stand out. I painted the center of the frame with some Twinkling H2o's and more of the Nutmeg coloured glaze, then heat embossed a script style stamp in old gold. The wooden letters spell out LACE which I embossed with some Shabby White embossing powder, and are also from my stash.
On each side of the box I used the new Tulip Scroll Corner pieces. I heat embossed them with Vintage Silver and then again used my Guilders paste in the bronze and copper to give them a totally aged metal look. I used some antique lace around the top of the box for a finished look.
I added some Tim Holtz feet on the bottom. I love the effect they give, it really ages the whole piece. I used the same treatment on the metal feet with the Guilders Paste as I did the other items on the box to tie them all in. I used some vintage appliques on either side of the Filigree Frame and some large bronze metal corners for a finishing touch.
Here are the lovely chipboard spools you get with your Trim box, adorned with some of my most special laces and trims.
...and a few more...I love these!
I really had a lot of fun with this project, so much so, that I want to order another few of these to store my laces in! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Next up today is Heidi with more beautiful solutions for your storage needs:
Hello everyone, Heidi here to show you a beautiful and practical new storage item from Gina's Designs. If you're like me, you have piles of 6 x 6 and 8 x 8 paper pads in your cabinets or drawers. I find that if I have them visible on my desk I'm more inclined to use them. It's hard to create when you can't remember what you have. A great solution is to organize with this Gina's Designs paper pad holder.
The box will have to be assembled and I wanted to share a couple of photos on easy it is to put together.
I typically will lay out all the pieces to see how they fit together, making sure the shiny side is on the outside before starting the glue process. I use a small amount of E6000 along the edges and then stick them together, holding the unit in place with some support as you can see in picture 3 above.
The recommendation for assembly is to put the 4 dividers into the back first and then put the two outside pieces together. You will receive detailed instructions with your unit showing just how simple it is to put together. It took me less than 30 minutes but I set it on it's side with a heavy book on top overnight to ensure that it was fully dry and secure before I began papering and embellishing.
I wanted a soft vintage feel so I kept mine simple, covering with beautiful papers and then adding a bookplate to the front. I plan to add a sentiment or word, but haven't decided which one I want to use yet. By covering both the inside and outside surfaces with design paper, the box looks beautiful from any angle.
