Damask Photo Tray by Kim

Hello everyone, Kim here today to share with you my latest project. Today I have created this Shabby & Vintage Damask Photo Tray. I am very happy with how it turned out, it is actually going to be a Birthday Gift for my Mother in law, who loves handmade things and photos of her family, so this was a perfect way to do both things for her!
I painted the tray in a lovely soft blue colour, and added some shabby looking paper to the background and also fussy cut out some images from Graphic 45 The Secret Garden Paper.
This photo below is a very special one, it is my Mother in Law meeting her Great Grandson (and my Grandson) for the very first time) It worked out so great to be able to share these special memories in this Photo Tray, I loved doing it so much I want to do another now! One of my favorite pieces you can see is above the film strip. It is one of the beautiful Cameo pieces from Gina's, I love altering these, they really add a Vintage touch to projects.

Here below you can see one of Gina's Chipboard Butterflies, which added a lovely touch to the project, and also picked up on the blue tones in the paper as well.

I have placed one of the  Chipboard Skeleton Clock Faces behind this photo of my youngest daughter on her wedding day, you can also see more of the fussy cutting I did, along with a beautiful vintage doily and some Tim Holtz Film strip.

Below here you can see some beautiful flowers from my stash, and under them is one of Gina's Cardstock doilies and chipboard keys, which I embossed using some of the Distress Embossing Powders in a vintage brown tone.

Below here is the two inch Film Strip from Gina's store, it is from the "Say Cheese" set.  I painted it black then used more black embossing powder to give it a lovely sheen, then added more Family photos!

|I went around all the edges of the Photo Tray with my chalk inks in a soft brown colour to pick up the brown tones in the background paper.

And Finally above here you can see another of my often used pieces from Gina's! The chipboard clock hands, I really love these and I have to say I go though a lot of them lol! I have painted them black here and used more embossing powder, placed them on a metal embellishment and added a little white flower for a final touch. You can also see above another of Gina's Doilies I have cut in half to frame the bottom of the picture above it.

I really had tons of fun with this piece and it is something my Mother in Law can enjoy for a long time to come as well.  Thanks for stopping by today to take a peek!
