Halloween Cards by Donna

Hi Everyone, it's Donna, with two Halloween cards. Yes, it's that time of year again!

For this first card I used the "gate" from the Small Fence and Gate Set, and one of the Stackable Labels. I covered both with black gesso. While still wet, I sprinkled Stickles dry fine glitter in Black Diamond on the gate. I added a little bit of stenciling to the Stackable Label with purple acrylic paint dabber.

For the second card, I used Gina's Grape Vine Leaves.  This is a new item in the store. They are great to use as pumpkin vines! The curly vines are so fun to use! I cut them into pieces to fit on the card. I covered them in black gesso and added just a pinch of dry fine black glitter in with the gesso. I didn't want a lot of sparkle, just enough to highlight the leaves and vines.

I'm going to leave all of my Halloween papers out because I just received some great chipboard Halloween embellishments from Gina's!!! Take a moment to check out the beautiful Fall and Halloween chipboard shapes and home decor in the store!

Once Upon a Time Layout by Donna

Hello scrappy friends, it's Donna here to share a layout with lavenders, purples, and gold!  I wanted to use the very regal chipboard iron fence (which comes with a gate).  I painted the gate with black gesso.

I accented the page with gold paper for matting, and Inka Gold metallic rub in the texture paint, on the fence, and on the shoe! I also used a piece of ivy from the "Bird in Ivy" chipboard piece. After applying gesso, I painted it with a mixture of Shimmerz texture paint, palm leaf glam glitter paint and mowed lawn distress paint. There is a lot of shimmer on the page, which was hard to capture in the photo!

I love using Gina's "words". I tried a few techniques and paints on these words! Started with milled lavender crackle paint, added lavender embossing, added a bit of the green paint mixture I used on
the ivy....and then a quick spray of white ink spray and gold glimmer mist. It was really fun and looks so pretty in person!

Hey everyone. Shanna here. Have you stopped by to check out the challenge? You can do whatever you would like with the challenge. You can create a home decor piece, make some altered art, and you can do a layout too.

I chose to play along with a layout. I am not going to lie I told the girl what the heck am I suppose to do.... I had some ideas and lots of stuff all over the floor trying to see it in my head. Finally this is what I came up with!

Next up "Take A Balloon Ride" with Heidi

Hello everyone, Heidi here.  I just adore these large size chipboard tags so much, giving you lots of space to decorate and make a statement.

I started this tag by taking a piece of kraft cardstock, crimping it and then tore a couple of spots in the top paper so that the "corrugated" paper shows through. I like doing this because then you can tear your paper and either stamp on that back piece or in this case, I put in a gear and then layered another layer of gears/buttons on top of it.
Then at the top of the tag I added a few more gears and tied them together.  My thought in my head is that the gears are turning and the balloon is rising.

Window Shadow Box by Kim and an Altered Canvas by Heidi

We have two amazing projects to share today.  First up is Kim, with an amazing home decor project!

Hi Everyone!  It's Kim here to share my newest creation, a Window Shadow Box done in a vintage shabby style.  It was tons of fun to create, and I love how it turned out.

I covered the inside of the box with a gorgeous black and white photo frame paper from Teresa Collins, and used aqua and turquoise as my accent colors. I painted the frame of the window with some distress paint in white, then sanded it back to the raw wood of the box to really make it look aged and distressed.

Here you can see inside the top of the box, and on the left side I have added one of the Gates from the small fence and gate set, which I embossed in an aged Silver tone. I placed some white, aqua and turquoise flowers in the box behind the gate and added a metal sign sentiment on top. In the middle of the window I placed some resin frames and added my initial.  To the right are some white resin cameras backed by some white doilies. In the far right corner, I placed a small clock button.
Below, you can see a frame I have altered and added a vintage photo of myself on my 5th Birthday! I have also added the word "Dream" from the Words and Phrases 1 Set. I added some flowers and a camera charm to the top and placed 2 of the intricate doilies on the side and top of the frame. To the right of the frame is a metal camera which I altered using some Patina Guilders Paste, and added a flower to the center. I added a fun metal tap and pipe to the bottom on top of some vintage lace.

Below, you can see the bottom right of the shadow box.  I have added a steam punk doily and a large wing from the Wings Assortment Set, which I have embossed with shabby blue and aged silver embossing powder.   I added a wooden sentiment and flowers to finish it off.
I hope you have enjoyed looking at my Window Shadow Box, and thanks so much for stopping by today!

Next up is Heidi with a gorgeous altered canvas featuring our Queen Anne's Lace chipboard shapes.

Hello everyone, Heidi here!  Today's project is a canvas I made for Gina's Designs using the gorgeous Lace Flowers.  To start the project I used the honeycomb grid to put some medium randomly on the canvas.

I then painted the entire canvas with a light gray paint, going back to add a little mustard to the medium spots (these areas were dry within an hour or two).  I painted the lace flowers with paint and then I used some medium to give it a little depth along with some glitter.

Here is a little closer picture of the flowers.  I have them lifted off the page to give the entire canvas some depth.  The glitter is actually very fine and all over the entire canvas.  The effect is so pretty but it was hard for me to get a good photograph.

Wood Hanging Mini Album

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday with their friends and family.

Dawn Rene here to share a mini album I made with a dimensional kit from Gina's Designs. It comes with a wooden stand and chipboard pages to make a hanging album.

This is what the wood in the kit looks like when you get it.

I used tattered Angels Naturally Aged Fine Wood Paint Kit to stain the wood. I stained the pieces before I put the stand together.

I covered the chipboard pages with Authentique papers. The pages were decorated with chipboard shapes from Gina's Designs colored with Tim Holtz Distressed Paints or Mister Huey's spray mist. The binder rings in the kit were silver. I colored them with a gold Sharpie marker.

Here are some pictures of the finished product!
