Bag - a - Whats?

Today we are introducing a new item in the store.  We chose to name them "Bagatelle Boxes" for several reasons.  My husband uses the word bagatelle in everyday conversation (oh yes, he really does), and it is kind of a fun word.  Then there is the definition of the word:  bagatelle - 1630s, "a trifle," from Fr. bagatelle "knicknack, bauble, trinket.  And then, gotta love that alliteration (same beginning sound) in Bagatelle Boxes.  At any rate, we have a fun set of boxes to show you, with a fun name.

Nancy has taken on the challenge of showing what these are for and making the boxes look good, and she has done a wonderful job.  She has a great post over on her blog that shows off some of the different configurations you can make with the Starter Set, as well as giving some great info on how she got her shabby look. Here is my project, featuring a technique new to me: Using Diamond Glaze to attach dimensional items. I have used sand to create some of the elements in my shadowbox, as well as attaching sand, sea glass and shells to the box for a beach feel.

Spring is Coming

April Showers brings May Flowers but in Florida at the moment it is cold - go figure!  Even though I love the cold weather because it beats the heat - nothing says fun more than summer and spring.  For my post today I created and Easter tag with some gorgeous spring colors from CI Paints and Gina's amazing doilies!

 The gorgeous doily is from Gina's Designs and the flourish off to the side as well.  I applied some molding paste to my Tattered Angels screen at the bottom of the tag. To me they almost look like eggs.. hmm maybe not?!

I used some Creative Memories flowers - originally these were flat but with some love and curling the sprung to life and brought the colors I used form CI Paints to live that much more - definitely another match made in heaven right!!  I even painted the dress on the stamped image.
