Garden Cards

Hello to you all. Shanna here and I am feeling a little dark lately.
Well not really dark. I used some darker colors on my cards to share with you all.
I love Prima and I have had some of the Nature Garden collections in my stash. I thought this was perfect and it turned out great with the chipboard I wanted to use.
Of course all my chipboard pieces got a coat of gesso. Then I proceeded to go to town :)
For my first card I used some Prima Chalk Ink but I didn't fully cover everything, just a little pat here and there.

The second card got a coat of chalk board paint. The Bird on a Swing Shape Set got a great crackle glaze but the cracked for some reason didn't make it all the way to the center of the bird.

I love crackle accents! It is so much fun to just add a bit more texture to projects!

I finished the cards with some chit chat words.

Happy Holidays Shadowbox by Mary

Thanks for stopping by Gina's blog on this last day of 2014. I have a happy holidays shadowbox for you today. I apologize for posting this after Christmas, but it was a gift!

This element piece was made with one of Gina's doilies and a punchelement 1 inch scalloped.

You can see the three different techniques I used on the ornaments. After they were painted I used bling on the first, a rubber stamp on the second, and one of Gina's snowflakes that I glittered on the third.
The number 25 was custom made by Gina.

From all of us a Gina's Designs, have a safe and Happy New Year!

Vintage Parisian Layout By Donna

Happy Tuesday! Today I'm sharing a vintage Parisian layout. When I saw this photo of the stockings it made me think of Gina's Parisian Shape set. So many cute items!
I used two of the corsets; one with black chalk ink, and left one natural. The darling woman in a hat silhouette is also covered in black chalk ink.

I used the boots from the Miniatures Shape Set - Ladies Choice, colored them black and then added then laces.

The round scalloped element pieces were created by our very own Gina! In the store you will find Punchelements 1 inch Scalloped to make you very own elements.
On the dress form,  I painted it with black chalk ink, and finished with a sheer gold mist.

Christmas Cards by Mary

Can you believe we are less than a month away until Christmas?? Mary here, and I have two cards for you today that I made using some of the chipboard pieces that Gina has in her store.

The first card features one of the snowflakes from the Snowflake Shape Set. I applied a coat of gesso before covering it in glitter. It is attached to the card using pop dots.

The next card is an easel card. I used the Punch elements - 1" Scalloped to make the elements that will keep the card in the upright position.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! Make sure you check out the store for other great things you can use to make cards with.

A Layout by Donna and Fall Themed Wall Decor by Dianna

Hi Crafty Friends!  Today we have two designers on the blog.  First up is Donna with "Every Picture Tells A Story", a peek inside a window to the past.

Hi Everyone, it's Donna here!  Even though it's October, I had red roses on my mind!  Once I grabbed the Cottage Window from Gina's, I knew what picture I wanted to use. I love using windows on projects. It's like you are looking in at another place and time.

I didn't want to change the look of the chipboard window very much, so I lightly rubbed a walnut stain distress paint  dabber on it.

I bent the windows up a little for added dimension.

I added a small circle image of a sewing machine to one of the Punch Elements. I used a red (brick wall) chalk ink to cover the words. I did not use white gesso first because I wanted a darker red color.

Thank you for stopping by Gina's Designs and taking a look through my window!

Next up today is Dianna, with her take on our Fall Scarecrow Wall Decor.

Hi everyone Dianna here with the Happy Harvest Scarecrow.  I decided to put my Gina's Design Scarecrow on a canvas.

The paper used on the Scarecrow is from Hobby Lobby.  I papered the body in a bronze paper and spritzed with Tattered Angels - Glimmer Mist - Gold.  Burlap paper on the pants, distressed the pants in brown and used scraps for a patch.  The vest was had been hand cut of yellow paper.  The vest and hat was embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder.  A light bronze paper was used for the jacket and embossed with a Darice embossing Folder and distressed with black ink.  The burlap paper was used for the face and distressed with black ink.  Googly eyes, a mouth drawn with a Sharpe, spritzing Tattered Angels - Glittered Angels - Gold, crinkle paper from the Dollar Store and acorn buttons found at Tuesday Morning finish the Scarecrow.

The canvas was dry brushed with Adirondacks inks.  I daubed the inks starting with the light colors in the center and darker inks toward the edges.  I distressed the edges with the darker colors.  (Remember that the Adirondacks ink take a long long time to dry).  The flowers were cut with Sizzix Tim Holtz - Jumbo Tattered Flowers,  paper used was three shades of Orange and distressed after cutting with brown ink.  After cutting the flower shapes, the back of the paper was spritzed with water and shaped with a McGill 8mm, 6mm, 3mm and 2mm tools. The Happy Harvest from Gina's Designs was spritzed with Maya Mist - Lemon Metallic (which came out a little tie-dyed and orange) on raw chipboard.

Leaves -  there are a lot.  Roughly fifty die-cut and embossed leaves from loose card stock purchased from a local Stamp Store, the Stamp Pad,  were used to make the waterfall of leaves.   Leaves that were not embossed were spritzed with water and a McGill 6mm and 2 mm was used to create the curve and lines.  The die used was from Momenta - Leaves Mix and Match Dies.  The paper colors used were olive green,  two shades of burgundy and two shades of orange.  All leaves were distressed with brown ink and spritzed (a lot) with Tattered Angels- Glimmer Mist - Gold.

Cards by Shanna

Hello everyone. Shanna here with a new set of cards to share.

I painted the chipboard using some Distress Paints (Picket Fence). On the Punch Element I used a Prima Chalk Ink before adding the photo.

For my second card. I loved doing the stitching. Of course I am not great at this but will get it down one day.

Again I painted the chipboard pieces using more Distress Paints (Picket Fence). I love how soft this card turned out!

Hi Crafty Friends!  Today we have two projects to share.  First up is Nancy with another August cross-promotional project featuring Gina's Designs with printable paper kits by Kitty's Scrap Post.

Hello Everyone!  Nancy here with another cross promotional project pairing Gina's Design's chipboard with digital papers from Kitty's Scrap Post.  This is my third project this month using the awesome papers in the Heartbreak kit.  Today I'm sharing a Paris themed mini album.  There are several more photos of this mini posted on my blog, and the link will be provided at the end of the post.

Above:  The cover was created using fussy cut images from the Heart Break digital paper kit and a Gina's Designs Texture Sheet in Diamond Pattern, deco corners, and the word "Love" from the 10 words set.

Above:  Background papers and images are from the digital paper kit.  Photo book tucked inside pocket featuring a chipboard cameo by Gina's Designs embossed in shabby aged silver.  The page on the right is a split page, with the top half featuring a flip up.

Above:  A flip-up page featuring sentiment,  corset and mirror by Gina's Designs.  Perfume bottle is fussy cut from the digital papers, and also background paper is from the collection.  All design elements are unattached in the photo mat area, so a photo can be slipped onto the mat.

Reliquary Arch Top by Shanna

Hey everyone. Shanna here to share a fun altered piece I created using some awesome chipboard from the store.

I had so much decorating this piece. I painted the Reliquary Arch Top pieces black then went over them with some Gold Rub n Buff.

For the fairy I painted her teal then gave her a coat of Rock Candy Crackle Paint.

I also used a new banner from the store. These are so fun as they come engraved or raised. How cool is that!  The banner just got a coat of Rub n Buff.

I just love spotlighting these fairies.

August Cross Promotional Projects - ATC's by Debbie and Storage Cabinet by Mary

Hi Crafters!  Today we have projects to share from two of our team members.  Both of today's projects are part of our August Cross Promotional with Gina's Designs and Kitty's Scrap Post.  First up is Debbie.

Hi Everyone! Debbie here to share a set of  ATC's.  I used the French Seamstress collection by Kitty's Scrap Post which comes with a set of ATC backgrounds, making my project fun and easy to create!  If you're not familiar with Kitty's Scrap Post,  her kits are digital, and you can print them off as many times as you like.  The full kits also come with backgrounds and elements to cut out.  I'm really excited about how these turned out!

I painted the dress forms a neutral color and the stems a copper color and then stamped on them. I added a bow and a flower to the bodice of the dress form and then added some dangles onto the bottle caps with beads. I added some lace and distressed and inked the edges to finish them up.

Thanks for stopping by Gina's Designs Blog today!  Here is my Supply list to make these fun shabby ATC's

French Seamstress Full Kit

Next up is Mary who has papered and decorated one of our storage pieces using the same digital paper collection.

Hi everyone! Today I have a project featuring the digital paper from Kitty's Scrap Post. This is the first time I have used the paper and it won't be the last! I love that you can print off the sheets of paper you want to use for a project. I used the French Seamstress Paper and French Seamstress Bottle Caps with Gina's 15 Drawer Storage Cabinet and the new punchelements - 1" scalloped!
One of the great features of the 15 Drawer Storage Cabinet is that you can either attach drawer pulls or use the side with the cut out for the finger pull. As you can see I have used both sides on this project.
The punchelements are so easy to use! I used my 1" punch on the bottle cap sheet I printed off. After I had the pieces assembled. I used liquid embossing over the top of the caps.

Thanks for stopping by Gina's blog today. Make sure you pop over to Gina's Designs and to Kitty's Scrap Post for some great products that work so well together!
