Burlap Canvas and Card by Dianna and a Layout by Lynne

Hello Crafty Friends!  Today we have two designers on the blog.  First up is Dianna with two projects representing Halloween as well as our October cross promotional with Craftsupplies1.

Hi Everyone, Dianna here with a cross-promotion project with Gina's Designs and Craftsupplies1.

I have two pieces in burlap,  the first is a small canvas from Hobby Lobby. I began by distressing the burlap with brown and black ink.  The Gina's Designs witches hat, feet and cauldron (coming sonn)were primed with white gesso and acrylic black paint on the witches hat.  Copic Markers, 100-black, N4-Neutral Gray, N6-Neutral Gray, N4-Neutral Gray was used on the cauldron. I started with the dark color first and then layered on the lighter grays to create the rounded look on the cauldron.  Copic Markers were used on the feet of the cauldron to create the monster feet and the hat band, YG23-New Leaf, YG13- Chartreuse, YG63-Pea Green. Black Copic was used on the witches boots and V09-Violet and YG13-Chartreuse was used on the witches tights. The Spiderweb was painted with black gesso. Stickels were dobbed on the cauldron feet, witches boots,  hat band and spiderweb.

Sizzix leaves were cut out of extra neon green paper.  Craftsupplies1 acrylic orange and brown flowers stems were inked with a light green.  The stems were curled around a small dowel to create a vine effect.  The flowers were placed around the green leaves.  Boo and orange dotted ribbon (from Michaels) was used on the side.  Three pumpkins from Kitty's Scrap Post O'Halloween paper collection was used next to the witches hat.  The pumpkins were spritzed with Tattered Angels, Shimmer Gold.  Lastly, a Craftsupplies1 Antique gold owl was glued on the spiderweb.

The Halloween Card

Burlap Paper was used on a Hobby Lobby card stock.  Brown Ink was used to distress the card.  The large pumpkin and moon was from Kitty's Scrap Post O'Halloween and was spritzed with Tattered Angels Gold.  Leaves were cut from Tim Holtz Autumn Gathering and spritzed with gold.  EK pumkin border punch was used on orange card stock.  Gina's Designs witch and cat was "painted" with black glitter fingernail polish.  EK punch was used to create the Spooktacular embellishment.

Next up today is Lynne with a gorgeous 12 x 12 scrapbook layout to share.

I created this layout as a tribute to our beloved tabby cat, Chester,
who went missing in the middle of August when a door was accidentally left open in the night. We still hope he'll show up one day,(we once had a calico cat come home after two months)
but we know there's a good chance we won't see our sweet boy again.

The chipboard phrase was perfect for my title, and all I did was paint it with acrylic paint to match the paper. I love how easy it is to make pieces like this coordinate with any project!

The bridge signifies the possibility the Chester has crossed the Rainbow Bridge on his way to Heaven...I wanted to give it a  pearly, dreamy feel so I painted it with pearlized acrylic paint then added a touch of white mist. I layered the pieces with dimensional tape and glue dots.

Two Halloween Cards by Dianna & Create Canvas by GDT Rashida

Happy Sunday Friends! Today we have two very fun projects by our designer Dianna and Guest Designer Rashida! First up is Dianna.

Hi everyone, Dianna here with two Halloween Cards.

Gina's Designs and Kitty's Scrap Post was used on both cards.

On the first card, I fussy cut this adorable little witch on the large pumpkin from the digital paper and placed her on top of two graduating squares of orange paper that has been distressed with brown ink and spritzed with Tattered Angels.

The white card is then covered with orange polka dot paper.  I found some orange buttons and tied black and white bakers twine into bows and placed them on the spiderweb paper that had been spritzed heavily with Tattered Angels Gold.

The two bats are from Gina's Designs Spooky Shape Set and are "painted" with black glittery nail polish (this really really works great with the chipboard).

The second card I covered with a scrap of orange and distressed with black ink.  The post card of the little girl is from Kitty's Scrap Post, O' Halloween collection.

I placed on scrap polka dot and dark orange paper which was distressed with black ink.  The post card was a little off size so I staggered the layers, then spritzed with Tattered Angels - Glimmer Mist - Gold.

What looks like four pieces of paper is actually just one piece of paper that was cut out from DCWV- Bewitched Stack.

The Boo, Bat and Scary Cat are from Gina's Designs Spooky Shape Set and "painted" with black glittery nail polish.

Now over to Guest Designer Rashida who has a fun and colorful project to share.

Hello Everyone! Today I am going to share my CREATE wall canvas that I made for Gina’s Designs. I have always been interested in abstract art so I used this opportunity to try my hand at my very first abstract painting. For this canvas I used Gina’s Designs palette and brushes and Ginas Designs Create dovetail banner and Gina’s Designs chicken wire.

The first thing you will need to do is apply a background color to your canvas. I chose orange. Once the paint was applied I wiped the excess off. I then added various drips and drops of colors. I chose lime green, yellow, while and turquoise. I also used drips of India Ink to add vibrancy to my paint.  Once you let that dry it’s time for your next layer. I used modeling paste and Gina’s Chicken wire to add texture, while the paste was still wet I sprayed it with lime green ranger spray and topped it off with a sprinkle of recollections glitter glass. Let that dry overnight. Don’t forget the edges!
Once my canvas was completely dry I used a black ink pad and ran it along the edges. Next for the chipboard. First I painted all the pieces white. Next I used my Gelatos to color the pallet and brush and the letters. I used my finger to blend it all together, then I used a paint brush with a small amount of water to smooth everything out.
Once dry I began using the same dip and drizzle technique that I used for the canvas. Finally, after everything was dry I glued everything down using E6000.  This was yet another easy project to complete and I absolutely love the results. The nice thing about this type of project is you can’t mess up.  If you can layer, you can do this!

Composition Boxes by Deann and Dianna with Kitty's Scrap Post

Hi Crafty Friends!   Lots of fun to share today.  We have two team members on the blog, both sharing our August Composition Boxes, both members chose a Halloween theme, and both members used the O' Halloween digital scrap papers from Kitty's Scrap Post.  Let's see how different they are!  First up is Deann.

Good morning, Deann here with an awesome Halloween project..
I used the Composition Box and Halloween paper from Kitty's Scrap Post.
This is the Composition Box, I chose the 31 to use with the O'Halloween Paper Set from KSP.
I used the Gothic Chandeliers, I decided to cut it in half and paint it black with white high lights
For the box with the 31 in it, I decided to add a picket fence.I inked the edges with Black soot distress ink.

Bonus Project :)
More of the Halloween KSP Paper

I love all of the tags that come with the Halloween paper so I did another project to use them up.
Its a double pocket made out of orange cardstock.

Next up is Dianna with her version of our Composition Box.

Hello Dianna here, for my take on Gina's Designs Composition Box and cross-promotion with Kitty's Scrap Post.  I used mine to pay tribute to one of my favorite holidays Halloween. All the paper used is from Kitty's Scrap Post's O'Halloween.  I painted the composition box, interior boxes, witch, sign post and the thirty-one with black gesso.

The witch was from Gina's Designs Vintage Ladies Silhouettes Set.  I printed the O'Halloween from Kitty's Scrap Post and misted the back of the paper with water, this allowed the paper to be easily folded. To get an even blending of the skirt and bustle I used some scrap ribbon.  The witches hat was an old die cut. The moon is from Kitty's Scrap Post O'Halloween glued on a circle from Gina's Designs Spooky Shape Set to give it dimension and inked with Tim Holtz's Distress Ink Black Soot and spritzed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Gold.  The moon was glued onto Gina's Designs Cardstock Doily Set Steampunk.

The Standing Sign was cut from Kitty's Scrap Post O'Halloween and inked with Tim Holtz's Distress Ink Black Soot.  The sign post was spritzed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Pearl.  The Gina's Designs number 31 was glittered with Stickles - Star Dust. The large paper spider web was made with Kitty's Scrap Post O'Halloween and cut from QuicKutz WEB die and spritzed with Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist Pearl.

The top box picture was cut out from Kitty's Scrap Post O'Halloween and the bottom of the picture was cut out to give dimension.  The lady's dress was dotted with Stickles-Platinum and the pumpkin man was outlined with Glossy Accents.  Behind the top box I used three of the Cardstock Doily Set Intricates from Gina's Designs and spritzed two of them with Maya Mist in Lemon Metallic (which is actually an orange color) and one was inked with Tim Hotz Distressed Ink - Black Soot. Around the Cardstock Doily Set Intricates  I used two of the bats from Gina's Designs Spooky Shape Set. The middle box picture was cut out from Kitty's Scrap Post O'Halloween and spritzed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Gold.

The last box has a key from Gina's Designs Wooden Decorative Keys protected by a Sleeping Dragon Baris stamp from Crackerbox Palace.  The fence was cut down from a larger fence from Gina's Designs Beach Shape Set and painted with black gesso. The spider webs from Gina's Designs Spiderweb Shape Set was inked with Tim Holtz Distressed Ink Black Soot and spritzed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Pearl. The Spiders are from Michaels.

August Cross Promotional Projects - ATC's by Debbie and Storage Cabinet by Mary

Hi Crafters!  Today we have projects to share from two of our team members.  Both of today's projects are part of our August Cross Promotional with Gina's Designs and Kitty's Scrap Post.  First up is Debbie.

Hi Everyone! Debbie here to share a set of  ATC's.  I used the French Seamstress collection by Kitty's Scrap Post which comes with a set of ATC backgrounds, making my project fun and easy to create!  If you're not familiar with Kitty's Scrap Post,  her kits are digital, and you can print them off as many times as you like.  The full kits also come with backgrounds and elements to cut out.  I'm really excited about how these turned out!

I painted the dress forms a neutral color and the stems a copper color and then stamped on them. I added a bow and a flower to the bodice of the dress form and then added some dangles onto the bottle caps with beads. I added some lace and distressed and inked the edges to finish them up.

Thanks for stopping by Gina's Designs Blog today!  Here is my Supply list to make these fun shabby ATC's

Next up is Mary who has papered and decorated one of our storage pieces using the same digital paper collection.

Hi everyone! Today I have a project featuring the digital paper from Kitty's Scrap Post. This is the first time I have used the paper and it won't be the last! I love that you can print off the sheets of paper you want to use for a project. I used the French Seamstress Paper and French Seamstress Bottle Caps with Gina's 15 Drawer Storage Cabinet and the new punchelements - 1" scalloped!
One of the great features of the 15 Drawer Storage Cabinet is that you can either attach drawer pulls or use the side with the cut out for the finger pull. As you can see I have used both sides on this project.
The punchelements are so easy to use! I used my 1" punch on the bottle cap sheet I printed off. After I had the pieces assembled. I used liquid embossing over the top of the caps.

Thanks for stopping by Gina's blog today. Make sure you pop over to Gina's Designs and to Kitty's Scrap Post for some great products that work so well together!
