Dreamin' by Barb

This month Gina's Designs is doing a cross promo with The Robin's Nest. It's always so exciting to try a new product! I was inspired by the dreamy look and colors of the Dew Drops that The Robin's Nest carries.

I began by using a stencil to create the background on canvas. I did this using sponges and ink as well as sprays. I just played until I got the rich layers I was shooting for.

For the buttons, I began with a layer of gesso and then coated them with all sorts of different things - ink, StazOn Studio Glaze, Gel Medium, rubber stamps, etc. Then I threaded bits 

of twine or ribbon through them and tied them off.

The key and plate and "dream" were coated with irRESISTibles.

Gina's Designs and The Robins Nest Collaboration

Hello friends!  Welcome to Gina's Designs Laser Cuts Blog!  Debbie with you today sharing a layout I created using Gina's Design's Laser Cuts and The Robins Nest Saffron Sunrise Collection.

This layout is a special one of my grandparents when they were young and the products used on this layout are so perfect for a vintage layout.  I have a short video to go with this layout so I hope you'll check it out too.

To start this layout I created the background using The Robins Nest Saffron Sunshine Collection, modeling paste and stencils.  

You'll notice off to the side is Gina's Designs Deco Lattice Panel I. I used this piece as part of the background.

Next step is to cut 2 circles using the Deco Lattice Panel I as a guide for sizing your circles. After cutting your circles, cut the Deco Lattice Panel I in half.  

Time to Gesso your chipboard pieces.  I used the Curly Word: Always as my title for this layout and I also used some leftover pieces that wer part of the Deco Panel.  

After the gesso has dried, it's time to add some DecoArt Crackle Glaze to all your Gina's Designs Laser Cuts. Apply it generously and you'll get a great effect on your chipboard.

Time to paint!  I used Americana Acrylic paint by DecoArt for my color of choice, Marigold.  It coordinates well with the Robins's Nest Saffron Collection!

Allow the paint to dry and using VersaMark clear embossing ink, ink up all your chipboard pieces and emboss with embossing powder.  

Time to put your layout together!

I used Robins Nest Dew Dew Glue to adhere all my small pieces.  I added rub-ons and flowers and Robins Nest Diamond Drops to the small chipboard pieces.

Two Fun Projects Featuring The Robin's Nest by Kim and Gina

Hello Friends! Kim here today and I have a fun share for all of you featuring papers and embellishments from The Robin's Nest.  All month long our team at Gina's Designs Lasercuts is cross promoting with the team at The Robin's Nest, and we have been having a blast playing with the amazing products from them.

I started of this layout with my inspiration being this lovely lady in one of my vintage photos from my collection.  She always looked "grumpy" to me, so I dubbed her "the grumpy lady".  I always wonder who these folks are, where they were from and how their photos end up in yard sales and in thrift stores.  I created some background texture on the "Fleur Honeycomb" paper with my texture paste and some Twinkling H2o's to pick up on the colour tones in the paper. I also added some of the Time Flies Rub ons from The Robins Nest to the background, I really love these, they fit in so well with the theme  of the layout.

Once the background was complete, I started to layer on more of the papers from The Robin's Nest, some burlap and more chipboard from Gina's.  I used this lovely chipboard frame from Gina's Designs. I took some of the Robin's Nest Dew Drops and placed them on the corner of the frame and then added a few to the ruler at the base of the photo to add some sparkle and shine!

My finishing touches were some lace from my stash and some gorgeous Petaloo flowers.  I hope my "Grumpy Lady" is happy in her new home, and maybe somewhere out there, she is smiling.

Thanks Kim!  I used two of the gorgeous Robin's Nest papers to create a museum style specimen box.  The Frame box was made using the Glitter Calamity Jane Diagonal paper and the interior background is the Khaki Glitter paper. The papers are a nice heavy weight just perfect for creating dimensional items.

The butterflies were fussy cut from images I printed.  The cocoon is made from a folded paper flower and the egg is a small rolled piece of cheesecloth.

Robin's Nest Snowman Mini by Dianna

Hi everyone, Dianna here with Gina's Designs adorable Snowman Mini Album (Coming Soon) and a Cross-Promotion with The Robin's Nest.  On the cover I used a beautiful snowflake paper from The Robin's Nest and Gina's Designs title Winter Wonderland (I cut the snowman off and cut up the phrase to fit on the mini album).  All the large snowmen are chipboard from Gina's and covered with plain white cardstock embossed with an embossing folder.  I daubed Stickles on both the title and the snowmen.  The hats are patent leather paper and scarfs are felt. 

The blue and white striped paper is the coordinating side of the glitter deer paper from The Robin's Nest.  I am kinda proud of the fact that this mini album has fold outs, which are on plain white card stock or drop-off from The Robin's Nest paper. The snowflake rosette is cut from a die and prior to folding the rosette I daubed Stickles on the edge to give it a little something.  The clip is just a plain paperclip with a snowflake charm.  The LET IT SNOW is from Gina's Designs Winter Shape Set painted white and stickled.  The snowflakes thru out is from the Snowflake Shape Set and the Winter Shape Set.  The deer from Gina's Design is being used as a pocket.  I glued the deer on The Robin's Nest glitter deer paper and cut out around the back of the deer and created a folded a flap and glued it on the back of the deer.  I painted the ice skates white, daubed Stickles and used a snow-writer for the "fur" trim.  I created a downward foldout and glued the ice skates on the front.  The rest of the pages are a using the rest of the snowflakes and snowmen.

Snow Angel Layout Featuring The Robin's Nest Product

Hello friends! Today I am sharing my layout with you which features the lovely papers and cut outs from The Robin's Nest.  This is our third year working with the Robin's Nest team and we were super happy to be able to create with this fun set of paper designs.
I chose to do a layout this time as I just loved this Snow Angel Paper!  Gina's garden fairies, snowflakes, and pine tree shape set went really well and kept with in the theme I was going for.

I layered on lots of lovely venise trim and flowers from Kraftsupplies4U, and then tucked in some of the snowflake cut outs we got with our Robin's Nest Papers.

I heat embossed the Fairies with some white and gold powder and then touched up their wings with some silver and gold Silk Acrylic Glazes.  The snowflakes were also heat embossed and then I added some fun Prima Bling to the center of each.

 The pine trees were a lot of fun to make. I used more of the Silks Acrylic Glazes on them in some blue and green tones and then topped them off with some Snow Tex to give a wintery feel.  The lovely lady in the photo above I thought went perfectly with the snow angel theme and I surrounded her with some rosette trim and snowflakes.

Winter Tag with The Robin's Nest paper

Good morning Crafty People!

Today I have a winter tag using Gina's X-large tag for the base.

I started by covering the tag with paper from The Robin's Nest.

I then inked and painted three pine trees from the Pine Tree Shape Set. I glued the largest pine tree to the tag. The two smaller trees are elevated at two different heights.

To finish the tag, I inked a deer with brown distress ink, and added white gesso to look like snow.

Snow Place Like Home-Cross Promotion With The Robin's Nest

Hi! Lynne here with a winter-themed project. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm NOT a huge fan of winter or of that cold white stuff. I do, however, have a soft spot for snowmen (I still have my snowman collection up and will probably keep it out til March!) and these adorable rustic snowmen from The Robin's Nest caught my eye right away along with the rub-on snowflakes.

I used the Picket Fence Wall Panel (coming soon to Gina's store!) as a base and covered it with wood-grain patterned paper, then sanded and inked the edges. After attaching the snowmen, I created a base of "snow" for them with homemade texture paste, then painted that with glitter paint. I used the same texture paste and paint for the icicles.

I used Stampendous Aged Ivory embossing powder on the chipboard snowflakes, which along with the tree, come from Gina's Winter Shapes Set.

I couldn't resist putting the cute little squirrel in the tree!

I loved the size and font of The Robin's Nest letter stickers and colored  them black to coordinate with the rustic feel of my project. I love that the glittery look of them still shows through!

January is The Robin's Nest Month at Gina's Designs!

Happy New Year Friends!  We are very excited to start 2015 at Gina's Designs. All this month we are celebrating with The Robin's Nest.

This is our third year working with The Robin's Nest and their very talented design team. Our designers will be working with some of the gorgeous papers and embellishments from them for this month. Then next month, The Robin's Nest will be working with our Gina's Designs Products.

We are thrilled to be sharing the quality and unique papers from The Robin's Nest. We hope you will hop over to their store and check out their blog for more information on their products and design team. Make sure you also stop over  in Feburary to see what their Designers come up with when they work with our chipboard pieces.

I have created a special project myself to kick off our month long Robin's Nest party!  I also hope you will enjoy seeing what our designers come up with during the course of the month of January.

So lets get the party started!

I have created a fun and whimsical winter fairy box featuring the gorgeous Winter Snowflake paper from The Robin's Nest.  I was very inspired by the paper and wanted to make something fun with it.

The Hexagon box is a new item in the Gina's Designs Store. It will come in three different sizes.  I thought it was the perfect item to cover with this really pretty paper.  The Winter Magic Banner I created with some of the fun Alpha's that Robin's Nest sells.

After I covered the box and made the banner, I got out some lovely items from Kraftsupplies4U ( butterflies, beaded trim and leaves) which went perfectly with the paper.

I added a fairy from my stash, and gave her a coat of silver Distress Paint to finish her off.

I am thrilled with the outcome, and really love the white and blue tones of the paper.

Hi, it's Melissa here with my latest project for Gina's Designs.  I used these gorgeous wings as the main feature to frame the photo. I loved decorating them because they look so real and detailed, and so beautiful. I used texture paste on them, followed by several layers of lumiere paints. I added the little frog for fun and because my husband likes them.

Hello everyone, Heidi here with something a little different.  Are any of you participating in Project Life or at least similar type memory keeping? I am working on a project and thought that I could use some of Gina's Designs products on these little cards.  So here I have made 2- 3x4 in cards and 1- 4x6 card.  I kept these cards clean and simple but had a great time with the chipboard pieces.  These will easily slip into my protectors.

It's Kathi here to share a double layout I created by pairing Gina's Designs chipboard shapes and The Robin's Nest papers.  The title of this layout is "I'm So Glad My Heart Found You".

The papers I used were the "Dark Distress Red", and "Classic Roses" from the Wild About U Collection.  Our Gina's Designs Valentine themed chipboard shapes are a perfect fit to go with the papers.  I used the lips & the fancy heart from the Valentine Shape Set, and  added a string along heart to the left side of the photo mat and I used two pieces from The Robin's Nest embellishment page by cutting out the fancy journaling spot that goes with the paper collection. To the left side of the layout I placed a tall valentines card that was given to his wife. A few months after Feb 14 his life was cut short due to a freak accident while on vacation. The sentiment said "I'm so glad my heart found you",  Love Cliff. I then framed the layout so she can hang it on her wall.

This is the second page of the layout. I used the paper "Valentine Hearts" & "Classic Roses" on this one. The tag is from the embellishment page. From Gina's Store I used the Cupids from the "Cupid Shape Set". Both were painted with white gesso then stamped with Fire Brick Red Distress Ink using music notes. The love sign was also painted with white gesso. I placed a red piece of paper behind the sign & placed it on the tag.  The three hearts from the "Valentine Shape Set" were prepared using embossing ink and UTEE.

The string along love is out of the "String Along - Hearts".  I painted it red then white/clear glitter was added. I then added a 4 X 6 photo mat & a large wooden heart. The large heart was raised up using foam dots in order to insert a photo behind.  The red heart inside is removable to use as a template to size the photo to slip behind the heart.
