Tall Garden Cottage Tutorial

This month I have a pretty big tutorial to share.
There are loads of steps and it'll take some time to complete (especially when you factor in drying time), but I think it's worth it.
Created from Gina's 3 Story House, you could customize the contents to your own whims and tastes. Filled with little mementos, keepsakes and small photos it would make a wonderful gift for someone special.

Mine isn't quite so sentimental and will be home to little gnome and elf figures and collectibles :)

Don't feel rushed with this project. Enjoy the process of making it 'just-so' and the challenge of filling it with lovely little bits and bobs.

You can find the full video tutorial HERE. If you have any questions or are unclear about anything, don't hesitate to ask.

White Tacky Glue
Spackling (I used one that goes on pink and dries white)

Captured Fairy

Hello! Today I would like to share my latest project with you all. It is a captured fairy that I absolutely love!
Please watch my YouTube video to see a step by step tutorial on how to construct this. Thank you for stopping by! :-)
The fairy was painted light pink and using dimensional magic modge podge I adhered a thick layer of diamond dust to both sides of the fairy. The fairy was perched amidst a small mound of flowers.

Altered Burlap Panels

Hello everyone. Shanna here and today I wanted to share with you some fun home decor pieces I created. I really am loving the "not here yet, but is here" summer. Playing with some summer theme pieces from Gina's Designs, I got to creating these little gems.
First I brushed some gesso on each panel and while that dried I gesso'd my chipboard pieces. Then let the painting begin!
So for the lighthouse, I went in with some Fired Brick Distress Paint and when it was almost dry, I used a paper towel to pick up areas that were not. This gave that blotchy texture making it look weathered. Next I went over the top with a new coat of gesso and then glossy accents for some shine.
Once the panel was dry, I used some Tim Holtz Remnant Rub-Ons on the lighthouse and the panel. Then after I glued everything down I added the Big Chat sticker "strength".
Same thing with this panel. I added the rub-ons and dabbed the chipboard piece with Mustard Seed and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Paint. Then I added the chit chat sticked and a metal gear I had on hand to finish of this seahorse.
Keep checking back every day for more inspiration from the rest of the team!

If you didn't do the blog hop yesterday, it's not too late! Just pop on over to the Gina's Designs Birthday Blog Hop and follow the links! The hop is open until May 29, 2015 at 8PM CST.

Winter Home Decor

Dawn Rene here with you to share an off the page project. It is like a shadow box - shallower and with no dividers. It is called a Doily Box. The particular set I used was titled "Noel" and is 10" x 10" x 1". It comes with nine doilies and various Christmas chipboard shapes. However, I changed it up and replaced some of the chipboard shapes with other items sold in the store. There are other Doily Box sets available too - like Love, Fall, Wedding, and Baby.

I covered the box (inside and out) with patterned papers from Authentique. The chipboard shapes were colored with Tim Holtz distressed paints or CTMH inks. Then I covered many of the shapes with thick white embossing enamel. I love thick embossing enamel right now - it adds texture and sparkle to any project. I think it works perfect on this project because it looks like snow or ice!

Many new products were recently added to the store in the last couple months. Stop by to check them out!
